WORKSHOP. Reading Buddhist Texts

Workshop on Reading Buddhist Texts (Toledo, April 2026)

The workshop is organized in Toledo, Spain, by the Shan State Buddhist University.

The workshop will take place 20–25 April 2020 and can be attended in person or online.

The workshop consists of guided reading sessions of Buddhist texts in different languages.
It is recommended for intermediate or advanced students, that is, those who already have some prior training.

Each day will include three sessions (two in the morning and one in the afternoon):

• Sanskrit: The Tigress Jātaka in the version of Āryaśūra
• Pali: The section on wrong views in the Brahmajāla Sutta, with Buddhaghosa’s commentary
• Khotanese: Overview of the grammar and practical work on a classical Buddhist text
